How do you select the Caregivers?
We interview all Caregivers. We check the experience, recommendations, training and professionalism. We verify their certifications and accreditation before including them on Damava’s platform. We do a criminal background check of all Caregivers to ensure user safety.
What is a self-employed worker?
The self-employed worker is a person who works for himself and not on behalf of another person. He performs work for which the client agrees to pay him the agreed price. Therefore, he has great autonomy in the choice of its customers, work schedule and how to perform the work requested by the customer.
Generally, the self-employed has its own customers and is not an employee of the company or the company that provides it work. The worker may also be designated as "independent contractor" or "service provider ".
The self-employed is not considered an "employee" because his work is not carried out under the direction and control of an employer.
To determine if someone is working as self-employed and not an employee, the courts have developed certain criteria. It is therefore possible to determine that a person is self-employed if :
- it controls the work;
- it provides its own tools;
- it can make profits;
- it can make losses.
Is Damava legal?
Damava is completely legal. We are operating our platform legally, declare all our income and pay all applicable taxes.
Is there a fee to subscribe to your platform?
Subscribing to our platform is entirely free.
How can I find a caregiver in my area?
The address where the caregiver has to go to provide the service is one of the selection criteria of your application online. For geolocation, the platform will suggest a list of Caregivers who meet your criteria.
How to know if we can trust the caregiver?
All Caregivers are carfully screened. Their references, certifications and accreditations are validated. We check the criminal history and interview all Caregivers before activating their profile. In addition, whenever the caregiver provides a care service, we recommend all our customers to note the quality of service and make a comment.
How do I make payments?
We use PayPal for all transactions. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can pay by credit card. You will only be charged when the service is rendered.
Can we interview the Caregivers to validate their compatibility?
Absolutely. You can request an interview with the caregiver you are considering. It is at the discretion of the caregiver to bill this time for the interview or not.
What are Damava’s service charge?
Damava add a 8% service fee on each transaction.
What are the benefits to using Damava platform rather than a traditional agency?
They are numerous :
- Agencies have high operating costs they charge to the customer. Damava works inexpensively so the service fee is only 8%.
- Agencies choose the caregiver for you, it is much less personalized. Damava lets you choose the caregiver that best meets your criteria.
- The agencies have a turnover rate of staff very high. Damava allows Caregivers to be paid according to the quality of their service. The best find themselves on the platform because they are paid more honorably.
- Agencies have to charge all the taxes. Caregivers on Damava are self-employed. They are not necessarily subject to the same rules.
